Leitchtag Building

The Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at UCSD offers outstanding clinical care, cutting edge clinical and basic research, and training for the next generation of rheumatologists and allergists. The clinical programs at Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla, UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest, and the Veterans Administration Healthcare Systems in La Jolla and Mission Valley provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with allergic and rheumatologic diseases in the outpatient and inpatient settings.

The research programs span the spectrum from the studies in the fundamental biology of immunologic and inflammatory diseases to clinical trials that test novel therapies in patients. Our internationally-recognized research programs are funded by a wide range of sources including the National Institutes of Health, the Arthritis Foundation, philanthropic efforts, and industry.   The educational programs of the Division involve teaching activities in the medical school, graduate school, and internal medicine residency program. Our highly regarded subspecialty training programs in rheumatology and in allergy/immunology are designed to produce outstanding physicians and scientists that treat patients and develop new treatments to improve the health of our community
